The unit is made of 100% aluminum and will not rust, is lightweight and extremely easy to install. The unit clamps to the throat of the spreader. Simply clamp the flow gate unit onto the discharge throat of the unit and tighten the clamping screws. This will allow the flow gate teeth to bite into the discharge throat, securing the control to the spreader. Meyer recognizes that salt is very expensive.
